After School Group Leader

Responsibilities

• Lead daily lessons, projects, and weekly challenges for students in grades K-12
• Foster a welcoming classroom community through effective management and social-emotional learning
• Guide and provide feedback to youth workers to support classroom needs
• Provide 1:1 academic and emotional support to scholars as needed
• Ensure student safety during transitions, meals, and field trips
• Maintain accurate attendance, injury reports, and behavioral documentation
• Communicate meaningfully with families during drop-off and pick-up

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 2 years of experience with students under 13 in an after-school setting OR 3 years in a summer camp setting
• Experience working with diverse academic, cultural, and ethnic populations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Flexibility to work with all age ranges from K-12

Preferred Qualifications

• 30+ college credits or an Associate's Degree
• Knowledge of Youth Development Principles (SEL, Positive Youth Development)
• Experience in lesson planning or project-based learning
• Experience in tutoring or leading team-building activities
• Fluency in an additional language such as Spanish or French
