AFP Operator

Responsibilities

• Run the Automated Fiber Placement machine to build large carbon fiber structures
• Work with Engineering and Programming teams on process improvement
• Engage in a total preventive maintenance program for equipment
• Train in new processes and transition new components to manufacturing
• Assist in setting up and calibrating the AFP machine
• Load and off-load composite tooling and materials from the machine
• Ensure proper alignment and placement for the lamination process

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in composites production and manufacturing (level dependent)
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours)
• Ability to perform repetitive motions including grasping, bending, and twisting
• Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and varied shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in a technical field
• Experience operating an AFP Machine
• Experience operating robotic equipment
• Experience in Aerospace
• Certified in crane or forklift operation
