About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage occupancy and unit management by maintaining waiting lists and following selection policies
- Conduct resident certifications and interviews to ensure accurate and current files
- Collect monthly rent, enforce payments, and complete bi-monthly reconciliation reports in Yardi
- Promote harmonious relations among residents, staff, vendors, and the community
- Review monthly rent rolls and reports to maintain a 95% occupancy rate
- Partner with Facilities and Property Managers to conduct regular unit, safety, and habitability inspections
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Fair Housing, ADA, and HUD standards
Requirements
- 2+ years of residential property management experience in affordable housing (Tax Credit, HUD Section 8)
- Working knowledge of landlord-tenant laws, Fair Housing, Section 504, and ADA
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel); Yardi experience is highly desirable
- Experience with computer-based service documentation; HMIS experience is preferred
- Access to reliable personal transportation with a valid DMV record
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and provide TB test clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS)
- Tax Credit Specialist (TCS)
- REAC and HQS training
- Working knowledge of building maintenance systems
