Aerostat Operator III

Responsibilities

• Supervise assigned work schedules, crew duties, and the training of lower-level field technicians
• Perform Launch and Recovery Director (LRD) duties, including weather assessment, pre-flight checks, and directing launch/recovery operations
• Ensure site and system maintain adequate levels of spares, helium, consumables, and support equipment
• Conduct corrective and preventive maintenance on aerostat avionics, fiber optic components, electrical systems, and weather sensors
• Prepare and submit technical reports regarding operational status, maintenance activities, and logistics issues
• Troubleshoot and resolve site/system technical problems, including repairs and modifications
• Maintain accurate site documentation, including flight logs, maintenance logs, and repair requisitions

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of Aerostat experience
• Successfully completed TCOM Aerostat operator training (34M and 74K systems)
• Active Secret US Government Clearance (US Citizenship required)
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Supervisory or leadership experience
• Valid Driver's License and a valid passport (minimum 6-month validity)
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, kneeling, and bending
• Proficiency in using mechanical/electrical hand tools and reading technical schematics

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Electrical Maintenance, Networking/IT (Cisco/CompTIA), or Mechanical Maintenance (Hydraulics/Generators)
• Military background in relevant MOS/specialties (e.g., 35F, 35G, 96R, 94D)
