About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform spacecraft integration, assembly, and testing tasks to precise tolerances using engineering specifications.
  • Install Multi-Layer Insulation (MLI) and Solid-Layer Insulation (SLI) on test and flight articles.
  • Build and terminate wiring harnesses for racks and boxes to high standards.
  • Operate specialized equipment including hydraulic test consoles, cooling system consoles, alignment fixtures, and various hand/power tools.
  • Execute system leak and pressure checks, as well as alignment checks of control surfaces.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, schematics, and harness wiring diagrams.
  • Record and analyze test data, generating necessary reports, charts, and graphs.
  • Support range operations, including hardware moves and integration testing.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in mechanical assembly for high-reliability products.
  • Proven experience in building and terminating wiring harnesses.
  • Proficiency in interpreting mechanical drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Skilled in using inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and digital multimeters (DMM).
  • Experience with mixing epoxy materials.
  • Ability to work 2nd shift onsite in El Segundo, CA.
  • Must be a "US Person" as defined by export control regulations and able to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of integration experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience working with MLI/thermal blankets.
  • Certification to J-STD-001 space or NASA.STD.8739.4.
  • Experience working in a clean room environment.
  • Active Security Clearance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
