Aerodynamics Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver aerodynamic designs and analyses of various turbomachinery flow path components
• Plan, support, and document component and stage rig tests to map performance and surge/stall characteristics
• Provide aerodynamic dispositions for production support requests and cost reduction initiatives
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are producible
• Develop analytical tools and methods to drive accuracy and innovation in aerodynamic modeling
• Train and mentor earlier-career aerodynamics engineers
• Communicate analysis results and recommendations to internal and external customers through verbal presentations and written reports

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in aerodynamic design and analysis
• Demonstrated expertise in turbomachinery aerodynamics, including compressible flow and heat transfer
• Proficiency in CFD tools and associated geometry generation and meshing software (e.g., Fluent, CFX, Fine/Turbo, AXCENT, or Pointwise)
• U.S. Citizenship is required
• Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with optimization software such as iSight, HEEDS, or modeFrontier
• Experience across all product life cycle phases, including conceptual design, detail design, testing, and production support
• Familiarity with manufacturing methods and real-world design limitations
