AEGIS Based Defense Senior Systems Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise for the development and upgrading of interceptors, radar systems, and launcher systems
• Participate in Integration Exchanges to resolve design and interface challenges for interdependent capabilities
• Support the integration of various components into a cohesive and effective system-of-systems
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate program risks in collaboration with the program office and stakeholders
• Serve as the onsite expert for the Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (ABMD) Program Office
• Perform deep analysis to document, justify, and develop traceable requirements for Aegis Sea-Based and Aegis Shore Facility Weapon Systems
• Resolve technical uncertainties by managing Test Observation Reports (TORs), Proposed Revisions (PRs), and Software Change Reports (SWCRs)
• Support all phases of testing, from planning and preparation to execution and analysis
• Maintain program integrity using digital tools like DOORS, Jira, and Confluence

Requirements

• US Citizenship with an active Secret Clearance
• Master’s Degree in a STEM field
• 12+ years of professional experience
• Direct experience with the Aegis Weapon System
• Mastery of MS Office suite
• Proficiency with collaborative tools such as Jira and Confluence

Preferred Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI Clearance
• Prior experience with Aegis Weapons Systems Baselines
• Experience with Missile Systems Engineering
• Technical expertise in Fleet operations, systems engineering, or Aegis Qualifications
