Advisory Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead application architecture design centered around Opentext Exstream and Opentext Communications Builder/Communications Server
• Work closely with end users, SMEs, and cross-functional teams to conduct gap analysis and requirements assessments
• Manage the full software development life cycle, including producing specifications, writing production-quality code, and implementation
• Design, automate, and execute functional, non-functional, regression, and performance testing
• Collaborate with teams to provide work estimations and enable small, frequent production releases
• Coach and mentor junior engineers to support their professional growth and career development
• Support production solutions by triaging incidents, performing root cause analysis, and implementing permanent fixes
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to technical roadmaps

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 6+ years of software development experience with Customer Communications Management (CCM) tools
• 6+ years of hands-on experience with Opentext Exstream (v23.3 or later) and Opentext Communications Builder
• 5+ years of experience with Java or a similar modern programming language
• 5+ years of experience developing, deploying, and maintaining large-scale applications with complex integrations
• 4+ years of experience writing and running SQL scripts
• Hands-on experience with DevOps tooling, including CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Jenkins
• 3+ years of experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Working knowledge of data technologies such as Postgres, MSSQL, Oracle, Apache NiFi, Kafka, or ElasticSearch
• Experience with monitoring and scheduling tools like Splunk, Dynatrace, or Autosys
• Background in core banking, financial systems, or regulatory compliance environments
• Experience with real-time, high-availability, and low-latency systems
