Advisor for Communications and Strategic Initiatives

Responsibilities

• Support the development and implementation of strategic initiatives and international partnerships
• Support the City’s participation in international convenings and multilateral forums
• Draft speeches, talking points, press materials, briefing documents, and op-eds
• Lead the production of digital and multimedia content including social media and short-form video
• Coordinate media and visual coverage of diplomatic meetings and mayoral engagements
• Translate complex international and policy issues into accessible public narratives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, media production, public affairs, or international relations
• 5+ years of experience in communications, journalism, digital media, or public affairs
• Experience in video production, social media content creation, and graphic design
• Demonstrated experience with international solidarity or global justice initiatives
• Strong writing, videography, and editing skills

About the Company

The New York City Mayor’s Office is responsible for overseeing city services throughout the five boroughs, coordinating public agencies and departments, and managing public property. The Mayor’s Office for International Affairs serves as the liaison between the City and New York City’s international community.
