About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct adversarial security testing against firmware, embedded systems, and storage products to identify attack paths
  • Evaluate attack surfaces including secure boot, authentication workflows, and debug interfaces (UART/JTAG)
  • Develop proof-of-concept exploits and attack simulations to validate vulnerability severity
  • Research emerging attack techniques relevant to firmware and hardware/firmware interfaces
  • Leverage AI/LLM-assisted techniques for fuzzing optimization and reverse engineering acceleration
  • Develop repeatable testing methodologies, scripts, and automation frameworks
  • Partner with Firmware Engineering, Platform Security, and PSIRT teams to provide remediation guidance

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in offensive security, embedded systems security, or firmware security
  • Strong experience with penetration testing, fuzzing, and reverse engineering
  • Proficiency in exploitability analysis and debugging low-level systems
  • Understanding of secure boot, firmware architectures, and cryptography fundamentals
  • Programming or scripting experience in Python or C/C++

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SSDs, storage controllers, or flash technologies
  • Proficiency with tools such as Ghidra, IDA Pro, Frida, AFL, or libFuzzer
  • Experience leveraging AI/LLM technologies for vulnerability research or offensive security workflows
  • Familiarity with agentic workflows and security automation
