About the role
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and direct all Southern Outdoor Adventure Program (SOAP) and Adventure Program (AP) activities
- Maintain all AP, OL, and SOAP gear and facilities
- Build and maintain community connections locally and beyond to increase program reach
- Manage revenue generation to cover the cost of the Director position
- Book, staff, and bill for adventure programming events, including environmental education and SOAP events
- Oversee risk management, including staff training, in-service training, and emergency response during program events and travel
- Attend all mandatory staff and department meetings
Requirements
- SDA church member in good and regular standing with an expressed commitment to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist church
- Minimum of 2 years leading adventure programming events or outdoor education
- Ropes course certification
- Rope technician certification
- First aid/CPR/AED certification
- Wilderness First Responder certification
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds and perform physical tasks in varying weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field
