About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a highly skilled design team, providing day-to-day direction and workload prioritization.
  • Oversee progressive design activities for low-volume engineering and manufacturing programs.
  • Drive innovative design solutions suitable for low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Collaborate with Chief Engineers, Program Managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure cohesive vehicle design.
  • Develop and improve design processes, standards, and operational plans to support business strategies.
  • Manage program milestones and ensure high-quality technical deliverables from concept through build.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Design Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in design, engineering, manufacturing, and leadership.
  • Proven experience leading design or engineering teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Complete vehicle design experience with the ability to work within tight packaging and performance constraints.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance (U.S. Citizenship may be required for specific levels).
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to resolve complex problems under ambiguity.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with armor system designs and survivability-driven solutions.
  • Knowledge of component fabrication methods, including Press Brake and fixtureless bending.
  • Experience working with internal and external fabrication shops in prototype environments.
  • Proficiency with advanced design tools such as modern CAD/PLM, NX, and TeamCenter.
  • Understanding of analysis tools like CAE and 3D Scanning.
