Advanced Software Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop advanced features and functionality for Honeywell’s latest cockpit offering, ANTHEM.
• Analyze customer and operational requirements to define systems architecture and capture requirements.
• Perform integration, systems, and functional testing, and conduct design reviews.
• Develop, validate, and verify system-level requirements for flight deck avionic programs.
• Troubleshoot current systems interfaces and performance problems.
• Lead or assist in coordinating engineering review activities associated with SRR, PDR, and CDR milestones.
• Interface with diverse stakeholders, including Equipment Engineering Teams and Customer Engineering Leads.
• Utilize Agile development processes and tools to manage project tasks and roadblocks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Avionics, Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering.
• 6 years of combined system, software, or hardware product engineering development experience.
• Proven experience with Avionics System/software and Certification processes.
• Working knowledge of ARP4754A and Aero Process.
• Proficiency with IBM Rational DOORS NG and Atlassian JIRA.
• Experience in developing aircraft functions such as Displays, Flight Management, Communication, Navigation, or Flight Controls.

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of avionics platform system engineering experience.
• Experience with functional decomposition and Systems Safety Analysis.
• Knowledge of EPIC/APEX platforms and applications.
• Academic background specifically in Systems Engineering.
• Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.
• Experience working on large, complex aerospace programs.
