About the role

Responsibilities

  • Lead quality initiatives for new parts, processes, and New Product Introductions (NPI) across U.S. manufacturing sites.
  • Own and lead all new equipment qualification activities and serve as the process quality expert for assigned equipment.
  • Develop and execute robust qualification plans for new equipment in partnership with Advanced Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Lead gage development, including specification, design review, and final buyoff.
  • Use metrology tools such as CMM and 3D scanning to measure, analyze, and validate parts.
  • Drive Cost of Quality (COQ) improvements, including scrap reduction and yield improvement.
  • Lead cross-functional PFMEA activities to identify and mitigate risks associated with new parts and process changes.
  • Manage Quality Management System (QMS) documentation, including Manufacturing Control Plans and standard work instructions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality engineering or a similar capacity.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing process troubleshooting and implementation.
  • Strong project tracking and detailed planning skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, including GD&T and MBD.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills and experience interpreting data to solve manufacturing problems.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of a GE Appliances development program (SCDP, AEDP, or similar).
  • Experience using, programming, and interpreting CMM, 3D scanning, and PolyWorks.
  • Strong background in Lean process improvement within high-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification; proficiency with Minitab.
  • Familiarity with GE Appliances refrigeration operations.
