Advanced Process Control Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regulatory and advanced control applications at ExxonMobil facilities globally
• Provide expert technical support to refineries, chemicals, and upstream facilities on base and advanced control applications
• Maximize benefits from optimization applications by remotely sustaining and improving Model Predictive Control (MPC) performance
• Design or modify process control schematics to improve operator response to abnormal situations
• Improve abnormal event detection capability and alarm management across global facilities
• Participate in R&D and the deployment of innovative next-generation process control tools and techniques

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in designing and implementing control applications for downstream, petrochemical, or upstream facilities
• Working knowledge of Distributed Control System (DCS) software and hardware platforms
• Experience with Real Time Optimization and Model Predictive Control (MPC) software
• Knowledge of Ignition or SCADA systems
• Proficiency with Steady State and Dynamic Simulation Tools
