Advanced Process Control Applications Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regulatory and advanced control applications at ExxonMobil facilities globally
• Provide expert technical support to refineries, chemicals, and upstream facilities on base and advanced control applications
• Maximize benefits from optimization applications by remotely sustaining and improving Model Predictive Control (MPC) performance
• Design or modify process control schematics to improve operator response to abnormal situations
• Improve abnormal event detection capability and alarm management at global facilities
• Participate in R&D and the deployment of innovative next-generation process control tools and techniques

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering
• 1-2 years of relevant experience in designing and implementing control applications for downstream, petrochemical, or upstream facilities
• Working knowledge of Distributed Control System (DCS) software and hardware platforms
• Knowledge of SCADA or Ignition systems
• Knowledge of Model Predictive Control (MPC) software
• Knowledge of steady state and dynamic simulation tools

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with procedural automation and sequential control
• Proficiency with operator training simulators
• Experience with programming languages, data analytics, and visualization tools
