About the role
Responsibilities
- Maximize benefits from optimization applications by remotely sustaining and improving the performance of existing Model Predictive Control (MPC) or Real Time Optimization (RTO) applications.
- Assess APC improvement opportunities for the fleet and develop/implement new MPC or RTO applications at ExxonMobil facilities globally.
- Partner with site personnel to identify, engineer, and implement MPC or RTO improvements to maximize unit performance.
- Provide technical leadership, expert support, and mentorship to team members to enhance functional skill proficiencies.
- Develop and leverage cutting-edge tools and techniques to improve the delivery effectiveness of advanced process control applications.
- Stay abreast of industry standards and best practices to incorporate into APC applications.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience implementing or supporting APC applications (MPC or RTO) in downstream refining, petrochemical, or upstream industries.
- Proven expertise in Model Predictive Control (MPC) using software such as AspenTech DMC, RMPCT, or PACE.
- Undergraduate or post-graduate degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Ability to work shifts (morning/evening).
- Strong technical knowledge of petrochemical assets or oil and gas operations.
- Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills for collaborating with global teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Inferential Modeling and RTO.
- Basic knowledge of process data historians.
- Ability to make base control configuration changes in DCS systems.
- Exposure to SEEQ or JMP for data analytics and visualization.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
