About the role
Responsibilities
- Manage comprehensive direct patient care for hematology and oncology patients in the Oncology Rapid Assessment Clinic (ORAC).
- Perform patient assessments, including taking medical histories and conducting physical examinations.
- Diagnose illnesses and order/interpret laboratory tests to guide treatment plans.
- Exercise autonomous decision-making in the assessment, diagnosis, and initiation of medical treatments.
- Manage oncologic emergencies such as neutropenic fever, tumor lysis syndrome, and sepsis.
- Collaborate with faculty, pharmacists, and nursing staff to provide evidence-based care.
Requirements
- For Nurse Practitioners: Master's Degree of Science in Nursing (MSN) and current/eligible Illinois RN and APN licensure.
- For Nurse Practitioners: ANCC or AANP certification and eligibility for Illinois and DEA prescribing numbers.
- For Physician Assistants: Completion of an accredited PA educational program and NCCPA certification.
- For Physician Assistants: ACLS certification and current/eligible Illinois licensure.
- Ability to work a rotating shift schedule onsite in Hyde Park.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in oncology, urgent care, or emergency department settings.
- At least 1 year of inpatient nursing experience (for NPs).
- At least 1 year of experience in hematology/oncology (for PAs).
- Acute Care certification or training.

- Competitive salary range between $130,900.00 and $167,200.00.
