Advanced Practice Provider, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant - MICU

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive critical care management for patients in the Medical ICU within a 24/7 rotational model
• Perform primary patient management, including admissions, daily management, and coordination of care
• Execute bedside procedures such as lumbar puncture, PICC placement, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
• Collaborate with attending physicians, fellows, and multidisciplinary teams to manage complex cases like respiratory failure, shock, and renal failure
• Manage oncology critical care consults in partnership with oncology and ICU teams
• Ensure continuity of care through structured handoffs across rotating day and night shifts

Requirements

• Advanced degree from an accredited nursing program or Physician Assistant Master's program
• Current Illinois APN or PA licensure (or eligibility to obtain by start date)
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
• AANC certification (ACNP or ANP-BC) or AGACNP certification
• Current BLS/ACLS certification
• Eligibility for DEA prescribing numbers

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of critical care clinical nursing experience
• Demonstrated clinical competence in managing patients with critical illness and knowledge of protocol therapy
