Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) - Rheumatology (Arthritis Center)

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive and autonomous care to patients, including obtaining histories and performing physical examinations
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and manage both chronic and acute patient conditions
• Triage patient clinical questions and manage medication prescriptions
• Meticulously document all patient encounters within the EMR system
• Counsel and educate patients and families on disease processes and treatment protocols
• Supervise and provide clinical support for patients receiving IV medications in the infusion center
• Support clinical research studies by screening and enrolling patients in trials and maintaining accurate case report forms
• Supervise and train research staff and student volunteers

Requirements

• Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies
• 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or relevant clinical setting
• Current New York State licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Relevant board certification (FNP or PA)
• Current BCLS certification
• Valid DEA and NPI registrations
• Proficiency in EMR systems and MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Demonstrated experience in the care of children and young adults

Preferred Qualifications

• Clinical experience in Rheumatology
• Specific experience working with adolescent patient populations
