Advanced Practice Provider (APP, PA, NP), Inpatient Vascular Neurology (Stroke) Service

Responsibilities

• Manage acute stroke neurology patients and engage in complex medical decision-making.
• Rapidly assess, diagnose, and initiate emergency stroke interventions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including the Emergency Department, Neuro critical care, Neuro interventional, and Neuro surgical teams.
• Provide comprehensive medical management, family support, teaching, and staff education.
• Coordinate timely patient discharge and participate in clinical research and consultation.

Requirements

• MSN or DNP (for Nurse Practitioners) OR a Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Current Illinois RN and APN licensure OR PA licensure/registration.
• ACLS Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• NCCPA certification (if applying as a Physician Assistant).
• Ability to obtain NIHSS certification within 6 months of hire.
• Demonstrated clinical competency and experience conducting clinical trials.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2 or more years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Clinical experience in Neurology, critical care, or hospital medicine.
