Advanced Practice Nurse or Physician Assistant

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality primary health care to students, employees, and family members.
• Assess health status, order and interpret laboratory tests, and manage acute or stable chronic illnesses.
• Provide clinical and professional supervision to the nursing staff.
• Maintain precise, confidential, and timely electronic medical records.
• Create, review, and update medical protocols annually based on evidence-based guidelines.
• Oversee patient flow and collaborate with the healthcare team, including counselors and physicians.
• Represent the Dyson Wellness Center at campus events and provide health-related education to the community.
• Assist in the hiring, training, and evaluation of medical staff.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program.
• National NP or PA certification.
• Current State of Illinois PA license OR current State of Illinois RN and APN licenses.
• Valid DEA number and NPI number.
• Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
• Strong clinical assessment and interpersonal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of five years of clinical experience.
• Professional supervisory experience in a clinical setting.
• Experience working in a college wellness center or walk-in clinic.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
