About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide medical and pelvic examinations to assess general health, pregnancy, and eligibility for contraception.
- Deliver individualized reproductive health care, including abortion care and transgender hormone therapy.
- Manage gynecological conditions and provide treatment for sexually transmitted infections and infertility.
- Order and interpret laboratory tests and ensure appropriate medical follow-up for all patients.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation within the EHR system in compliance with all policies.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care and referrals.
- Participate in department committees, quality risk management, and community educational efforts.
- Assist in the training and orientation of newly hired clinical staff and advanced practice clinicians.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Nurse Midwifery program.
- Valid New York State Licensure as a Physician Assistant, Midwife, or Nurse Practitioner.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- Current BLS and ACLS Certification.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for potential travel to other work locations.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in nursing or a related health field.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
- Experience working with LGBTQ and transgender populations.
- Bilingual proficiency in Spanish.
