About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and expertise in oilfield chemistry, specifically focusing on Microbially Influenced Corrosion (MIC) mitigation.
- Lead the development, execution, and optimization of global Oilfield Chemical (OFC) programs, including asset integrity and flow assurance.
- Develop technical scopes of work and define chemical requirements for the selection of new or replacement oilfield chemicals.
- Design and optimize chemical monitoring programs to ensure performance in production, water injection, and disposal processes.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) to engage with chemical suppliers and review technical proposals.
- Lead field validation trials and pilot programs for new chemical treatments to ensure alignment with operational KPIs.
- Mentor early career engineers and provide technical guidance to multi-disciplinary teams.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 8 years of industry experience in Oilfield Chemicals, Specialty Chemical Management, or a similar role within the Oil & Gas or Industrial Water treatment sectors.
- Technical depth in both aqueous and hydrocarbon chemistry/physics applied to corrosion management and flow assurance.
- Proven experience in monitoring and surveillance of operating assets to maintain asset integrity.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with laboratory methods for testing chemical effectiveness and material compatibility.
- Experience with chemical injection systems and various specialty chemicals such as biocides, scale inhibitors, and demulsifiers.
- Demonstrated ability to influence operations and engineering personnel in a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Strong business acumen regarding commercial contracts, procurement, and supply chain logistics.
- Ability to work flexible shifts and travel internationally as required by business needs.
