Advanced Modeling Engineer (Intern)

Responsibilities

• Design and develop agentic AI systems featuring autonomy, planning, reasoning, and self-correction
• Architect single-agent and multi-agent systems using frameworks like LangGraph, LangChain, or CrewAI
• Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) into agent frameworks using prompting strategies and tool calling
• Develop and validate predictive and prescriptive process/structure models for next-generation memory technologies
• Implement governance and safety guardrails for autonomous agents to ensure secure and scalable AI solutions
• Apply scientific computing, numerical methods, and algorithm development to process control and optimization
• Design human-in-the-loop workflows and intuitive user interfaces for AI-driven systems
• Package Python code into applications and work within HPC Linux environments

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Applied Physics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of Machine Learning (ML) and statistical techniques
• Hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, or similar agentic orchestration tools
• Proficiency in Python and experience working in Linux environments
• Experience in scientific computing, algorithm development, and numerical methods
• Understanding of Linear and Non-Linear Model Predictive Control
• Experience with physics-informed neural networks (PINNs) or computational materials science is a plus
