Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise and Materials and Process support for aerospace gas turbine engines.
• Collaborate across engineering teams to create solutions for propulsion and auxiliary power systems.
• Support materials and processes involved in the design and manufacture of metallic parts, focusing on metallurgy and metallurgical processes such as casting, forging, heat treating, and welding.
• Act as a technical point of contact for less experienced engineers.
• Serve as a liaison between regional suppliers in Taiwan and the APAC region and Honeywell Aerospace.
• Participate in all phases of product development.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field.
• 4+ years of experience in materials or process engineering.
• 4+ years of experience working with aerospace materials, specifically aluminum, steel, titanium, and nickel.
• Ability to travel approximately 25%.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Materials Science, Metallurgy, Aerospace Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with casting, forging, heat treating, or welding processes.
• Familiarity with Nadcap, industrial material specifications, and industry standards.
• Experience conducting supplier audits and assessing supplier capabilities.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting material and process issues to provide rapid technical solutions.
• Experience with Six Sigma, Lean, or other process improvement methodologies.
• Experience using simulation tools such as DEFORM, ProCast, or Thermocalc.
