About the role

Responsibilities

  • Develop mechanical designs for transmission solenoids, including housings, armatures, springs, valves, and interfaces
  • Translate customer and system requirements into detailed design concepts, CAD models, drawings, and specifications
  • Manage the full mechanical design lifecycle from concept and validation through release and series production support
  • Create and maintain BOMs, drawings, tolerance analyses, and documentation within the PLM system
  • Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure designs are optimized for high-volume automotive production
  • Participate in DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP&R, design reviews, and validation testing
  • Support industrialization, ramp-up, and series production by collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
  • Analyze and resolve design, production, and field issues using structured problem-solving techniques
  • Drive continuous improvements in cost, quality, and standardization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design or product development, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, specifically NX and Teamcenter
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design, tolerancing, materials, and DFM/DFA
  • Experience with automotive quality tools such as DFMEA, DRBFM, and DVP&R
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Fluent English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with automotive electromechanical components, specifically transmission solenoids or valves
  • Knowledge of automatic transmission or powertrain systems (AT, CVT, DCT)
  • Experience supporting series production and change management
  • Experience with FEA or mechanical simulation
  • Proficiency in Spanish and/or German
