About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop mechanical designs for transmission solenoids, including housings, armatures, springs, valves, and interfaces
- Translate customer and system requirements into detailed design concepts, CAD models, drawings, and specifications
- Manage the full mechanical design lifecycle from concept and validation through release and series production support
- Create and maintain BOMs, drawings, tolerance analyses, and documentation within the PLM system
- Apply DFM/DFA principles to ensure designs are optimized for high-volume automotive production
- Participate in DFMEA/DRBFM, DVP&R, design reviews, and validation testing
- Support industrialization, ramp-up, and series production by collaborating with manufacturing, quality, and suppliers
- Analyze and resolve design, production, and field issues using structured problem-solving techniques
- Drive continuous improvements in cost, quality, and standardization
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design or product development, preferably in the automotive industry
- Proficiency in CAD tools, specifically NX and Teamcenter
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, tolerancing, materials, and DFM/DFA
- Experience with automotive quality tools such as DFMEA, DRBFM, and DVP&R
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fluent English communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automotive electromechanical components, specifically transmission solenoids or valves
- Knowledge of automatic transmission or powertrain systems (AT, CVT, DCT)
- Experience supporting series production and change management
- Experience with FEA or mechanical simulation
- Proficiency in Spanish and/or German
