About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the capture and execution of advanced materials research and development programs for government customers such as DARPA, AFRL, and ONR
- Identify, shape, and drive winning proposals for ceramic, metallic, and composite enabling technology programs
- Lead cross-functional engineering teams in developing concepts and solutions to address customer technology needs and warfighter capability gaps
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers, industry partners, and government organizations to gather business intelligence
- Develop and lead internal investment projects, including Internal Research and Development (IRAD) and capital initiatives
- Support the AMTT Director in executing strategy, managing budgets, and delivering financial commitments
- Mentor, coach, and train employees across multiple functions to foster a high-performing team environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in chemical or materials engineering
- Proven experience in capture management and/or managing technology development programs
- Experience creating advanced materials research and development projects
- Established network with U.S. Government R&D organizations, laboratories, or FFRDCs
- Active and transferable U.S. government Secret security clearance required on day one
- U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or advanced degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Engineering, Physics, or a related discipline
- Recognized subject-matter expertise and leadership in materials science
- Experience in a multidisciplinary Contract Research and Development (CRAD) environment
- Experience with advanced ceramic, composite, and metal technologies
- Experience in advanced materials processing, characterization, and maturation
- Experience securing Intellectual Property for emerging technologies
- Active TS/SCI security clearance
