About the role
Responsibilities
- Define and implement long-term process and equipment strategy for EV Powertrain manufacturing lines
- Lead the entire equipment lifecycle from concept and vendor selection to installation and commissioning
- Lead process flow planning, layout, and installation of new Powertrain assembly lines
- Act as technical subject matter expert for high-precision automation, servo control, and quality inspection systems
- Lead Product Engineering teams in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) optimization
- Partner with Tier 1 equipment suppliers for technical specifications and delivery
- Drive continuous improvement for OEE, yield, and cycle time using SPC and DOE
- Collaborate with Product Design, Quality, and Operations teams for seamless equipment integration
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing engineering
- 8+ years focused on high-precision Electric Drive Unit (motor/gearbox/inverter) or ICE Drivetrain assembly
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- Expertise in high-speed rotor/stator assembly, winding, or precision balancing
- Familiarity with precision liquid dispensing and automated leak/pressure testing
- Expert knowledge of Electric Motor EOL dynamometer testing
- Proven history of bringing complex automated manufacturing equipment to high-volume production
- Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks or CATIA
- Experience leading multi-million dollar large-scale equipment projects
- Ability to perform rigorous statistical and root cause analysis
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a startup environment and scaling production
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies (Black Belt preferred)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
