Advanced Grid Study Engineer

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced power system studies including load flow, short-circuit, harmonic, dynamic stability, and transient stability.
• Conduct grid compliance assessments for onshore and offshore wind projects to ensure adherence to Grid Codes.
• Execute EMT and frequency domain studies related to Fault Ride Through (FRT), voltage stability, and reactive power capability.
• Develop, benchmark, and validate detailed simulation models for Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) and Power Plant Controllers (PPC).
• Utilize simulation tools such as DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSCAD/EMTDC, and MATLAB/Simulink for analysis and modeling.
• Develop automation scripts and tools using Python, C, or C++ to streamline simulation execution and reporting.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, single-line diagrams, and engineering recommendations for internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with global engineering, controls, and product development teams to integrate study outcomes into design deliverables.

Requirements

• PhD, Master’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Power Engineering or a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in power systems engineering.
• Proven experience in performing Grid Studies and Grid Compliance activities for renewable energy projects.
• Hands-on expertise with DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSS®E, PSCAD/EMTDC, and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Proficiency in programming and automation using Python, C, or C++.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
