Advanced Children’s Social Worker

Responsibilities

• Complete statutory assessments to determine needs and recommend appropriate plans and actions
• Act as lead professional on allocated complex child care cases, including assessment, intervention, and care planning
• Coordinate, commission, and monitor a range of services to meet children’s needs
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records using electronic case management systems
• Prepare high-quality reports for reviews, panels, and court proceedings
• Mentor, coach, and support newly qualified social workers and social work students
• Contribute to the development of best practice through coaching, training, and team meetings
• Support the Team Manager in developing and embedding quality assurance processes

Requirements

• Degree level qualification in Social Work (or equivalent)
• Registered with Social Work England
• Significant post-qualified experience in Children’s Social Work
• Experience managing complex child care and looked after children cases
• Proven ability to mentor and develop other social workers
• Strong knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory frameworks, and safeguarding practice
• Eligible to work in the UK
