Adult Librarian

Responsibilities

• Provide reference service and resource recommendations using print, media, and digital resources
• Collaborate with the Adult Educational Services Department to develop, promote, and facilitate innovative programs such as book discussions, technology classes, and arts activities
• Partner with the collection development team to build and maintain a diverse and relevant Adult collection
• Encourage digital literacy and provide technology instruction to community members
• Develop and maintain content for social media platforms including Library blogs and Facebook
• Mentor library staff in preparing and presenting adult programs
• Assist with circulation, fines and fees management, reserves, and opening/closing procedures
• Maintain knowledge of trends in adult literature and professional library services

Requirements

• Ability to provide high-quality reference services
• Experience in program development and facilitation for adult populations
• Skills in collection development and maintenance
• Proficiency in digital literacy instruction and social media management
• Ability to mentor staff and assist with library operations
