Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide high standard assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs
• Deliver person-centred therapy to patients within community settings
• Involve families and carers in care plans
• Act as a source of specialist advice to the stroke community rehabilitation service and wider community therapy services
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
• HCPC registration
• Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Experience working with adult patients, ideally in community or rehabilitation settings
• Strong clinical skills in managing communication and swallowing disorders
• Valid UK driving licence or access to transport for travel across the borough
