Adult Community Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, differentially diagnose, set goals with, treat and manage adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders
• Manage and prioritise a varied community caseload independently
• Deliver specialist Speech and Language Therapy interventions as an autonomous practitioner
• Provide therapy across multiple settings including outpatient clinics, clients’ homes, residential homes and nursing homes
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical records in line with professional and service standards
• Contribute to service development and work collaboratively within the wider multidisciplinary team

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent)
• HCPC registration
• Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Experience working with adults with communication and/or swallowing disorders, including stroke and neurological conditions
• Strong clinical reasoning, organisational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team environment
