Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose and manage adults with complex speech, language, communication and swallowing difficulties within acute care settings
• Provide specialist input across Respiratory, Surgery and Intensive Care Units
• Support additional inpatient teams including medical, elderly care, emergency department and stroke wards
• Deliver evidence-based intervention plans tailored to individual patient needs
• Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support safe discharge planning and patient recovery
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with HCPC and NHS standards

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Experience working with adults in acute care settings
• Band 7 level clinical experience within adult acute services
• Relevant CPD and post-graduate training
• Excellent communication and clinical reasoning skills

Preferred Qualifications

• NHS experience
