About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with dysphagia across acute medical and surgical wards
- Provide assessment and intervention for communication needs as required
- Make evidence-based clinical recommendations to support safe swallowing and communication
- Work collaboratively within the acute SLT team and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards
- Work to an agreed individualised job plan
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Eligibility for RCSLT membership
- Proven experience working with adult acute patients
- Independent dysphagia competency
- Strong clinical reasoning, communication, and organisational skills
