About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in an acute inpatient setting
- Independently assess and treat dysphagia, ensuring safe and effective management plans are in place
- Manage a mixed caseload including general acute and stroke patients
- Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to patient care plans and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the RCSLT
- Proven experience working within an adult acute setting
- Strong, independent dysphagia management skills
- Experience managing a general acute caseload, ideally including acute stroke patients
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
