Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in an acute inpatient setting
• Independently assess and treat dysphagia, ensuring safe and effective management plans are in place
• Manage a mixed caseload including general acute and stroke patients
• Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to patient care plans and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration and membership (or eligibility) with the RCSLT
• Proven experience working within an adult acute setting
• Strong, independent dysphagia management skills
• Experience managing a general acute caseload, ideally including acute stroke patients
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
