Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with communication and swallowing disorders
• Provide specialist assessment and treatment for dysphagia
• Deliver evidence-based interventions to support patient recovery and independence
• Work face-to-face with patients across acute wards
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic patient care
• Maintain accurate clinical records in line with professional standards

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
• HCPC registration
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in acute dysphagia management
• Competencies appropriate for Band 6
• Experience working in an acute hospital environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
