Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, HCPC registration, Dysphagia competency, Acute hospital experience
About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide autonomous assessment and management of adult patients with dysphagia within acute wards
- Deliver dysphagia rehabilitation and contribute to communication assessment and intervention
- Manage and prioritise an acute caseload effectively, responding to urgent referrals
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient care and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with Trust and professional standards
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- Proven experience in adult acute or hospital-based SLT service
- Dysphagia competency
- Ability to work independently within an acute caseload
Preferred Qualifications
- Videofluoroscopy competency
- Tracheostomy competency
