About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide autonomous assessment and management of adult patients with dysphagia within acute wards
  • Deliver dysphagia rehabilitation and contribute to communication assessment and intervention
  • Manage and prioritise an acute caseload effectively, responding to urgent referrals
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient care and discharge planning
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation in line with Trust and professional standards

Requirements

  • Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
  • Proven experience in adult acute or hospital-based SLT service
  • Dysphagia competency
  • Ability to work independently within an acute caseload

Preferred Qualifications

  • Videofluoroscopy competency
  • Tracheostomy competency
