Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist Speech and Language Therapy to adults with communication and swallowing difficulties, including dysphagia
• Undertake comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning in an acute hospital setting
• Offer specialist clinical advice and support to the multidisciplinary team
• Manage and prioritise a complex clinical caseload independently
• Maintain accurate and professional clinical documentation
• Contribute to service development, audits, and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
• HCPC registration
• Eligibility for RCSLT membership
• Proven experience with adult dysphagia and communication disorders in an acute or hospital setting
• Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary teamwork
