Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing difficulties within an acute inpatient setting
• Deliver evidence-based interventions tailored to individual patient needs
• Undertake dysphagia assessments and contribute to safe swallowing management plans
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, including medical, nursing, and therapy colleagues
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional and organisational standards
• Contribute to service development and clinical discussions

Requirements

• UK-recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
• Experience working with an adult acute inpatient caseload
• Postgraduate dysphagia training
• Strong clinical reasoning and communication skills
