Degree in Speech and Language Therapy, HCPC registration, RCSLT membership, Acute adult setting experience
About the role
Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, and manage adults with speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders in an acute hospital setting
- Independently manage complex dysphagia cases across a range of clinical presentations
- Provide therapy across multiple wards, including the Acute Stroke Unit and Critical Care
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patient recovery and care planning
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with professional standards
Requirements
- Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registration
- Membership with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT)
- Proven experience working within an acute adult setting
- Ability to independently manage dysphagia and communication disorders
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with videofluoroscopy
- Experience managing patients with tracheostomy
