About the role

Responsibilities

  • Confirm eligibility requirements for adoptive children by reviewing applications and documentation
  • Assist provider agency staff in determining required documentation for Adoption Subsidy
  • Provide one-to-one support and guidance to provider agency staff on program merits and application completion
  • Liaise with case planners and supervisory staff regarding Adoption Subsidy packages
  • Communicate with internal and external partners regarding program eligibility
  • Review Title IV-E eligibility status for children moving toward adoption
  • Prepare unit case records for subsidy initiation
  • Attend Adoption subsidy fair hearings and complete necessary documentation

Requirements

  • Must be permanent (not provisional) in the Civil Service title of Child Welfare Specialist
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
  • Ability to pass an English language proficiency test
  • For Assignment Level II: one year of satisfactory child welfare casework experience
