About the role
Responsibilities
- Confirm eligibility requirements for adoptive children by reviewing applications and documentation
- Assist provider agency staff in determining required documentation for Adoption Subsidy
- Provide one-to-one support and guidance to provider agency staff on program merits and application completion
- Liaise with case planners and supervisory staff regarding Adoption Subsidy packages
- Communicate with internal and external partners regarding program eligibility
- Review Title IV-E eligibility status for children moving toward adoption
- Prepare unit case records for subsidy initiation
- Attend Adoption subsidy fair hearings and complete necessary documentation
Requirements
- Must be permanent (not provisional) in the Civil Service title of Child Welfare Specialist
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college
- Ability to pass an English language proficiency test
- For Assignment Level II: one year of satisfactory child welfare casework experience
