Admissions Recruitment & Outreach Specialist

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support recruitment activities including information sessions, open houses, campus visits, and recruitment fairs.
• Represent the Xavier Ochsner College of Medicine (XOCOM) at local, regional, and national recruitment events and community engagement programs.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective students, providing professional communication and guidance.
• Build and maintain relationships with pre-health advisors, colleges, universities, and community partners.
• Assist in developing outreach strategies and supporting pathway initiatives to expand access to medical education.
• Collaborate with admissions leadership on recruitment planning, yield initiatives, and admissions communications.
• Manage logistics for recruitment events, including travel arrangements, scheduling, and event preparation.
• Track recruitment activities, inquiries, and engagement outcomes using admissions databases and CRM systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in admissions, recruitment, outreach, student services, or enrollment management.
• Proven experience coordinating events, outreach activities, or student engagement initiatives.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace, and CRM or database systems.
• Ability to travel 40–50% locally and nationally.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends as recruitment activities require.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education, public health, healthcare administration, or a related field.
• Experience in medical education or graduate/professional admissions.
• Experience with recruitment strategy development or pathway programming.
• Familiarity with CRM systems (such as AMP or Kira Talent) and data reporting tools.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and community engagement initiatives.
• Familiarity with LCME accreditation standards or admissions compliance practices.
