Admissions Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Manage undergraduate application processing, including evaluating transcripts, test scores, and other academic documents for authenticity and completeness
• Provide complex admissions information and guidance to prospective students, applicants, and their families
• Make admission decisions for specific applicant groups and assess transfer credits
• Perform document control tasks such as scanning, sorting, and maintaining accurate electronic and hard-copy records
• Conduct background research on course offerings at various institutions to support transfer credit articulation
• Respond to inquiries via email and phone regarding admission requirements, application status, and related policies
• Enter course and grade information into student information systems with high accuracy

Requirements

• High School graduation
• Two-year post-secondary diploma
• Training in office procedures
• 4 years of related experience
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Intercultural communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations
• Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Undergraduate Admissions process and UBC's program offerings
• Familiarity with Canadian higher education structures and academic terminology
• Experience using University systems such as Student Information Systems (SIS)
• Proven ability to multitask and work accurately under pressure during peak periods
