About the role
Responsibilities
- Represent Samford University at recruitment events, college fairs, and high school visits within an assigned territory.
- Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors, community organizations, and prospective students.
- Conduct informational sessions and campus tours for prospective students and their families.
- Provide guidance on the undergraduate admission process, including application requirements, scholarships, and financial aid.
- Evaluate applicants for admission based on established office goals and objectives.
- Assist prospective students with application materials such as essays, recommendation letters, and transcripts.
- Maintain accurate and timely communication records within the department CRM (Slate).
- Monitor and follow up with prospective students throughout the enrollment cycle to encourage application submission.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong planning, organizing, and computing skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with public speaking experience.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to travel extensively (15-20 weeks per year) by air and ground.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform basic heavy lifting (approx. 30lbs).
- Understanding of the value of a liberal arts education within a Christian university context.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Experience in college admissions, financial aid, high school counseling, or teaching.
