Admission Counselor

Responsibilities

• Evaluate student applications using independent judgment to analyze candidates for admission
• Interview prospective students and provide information regarding University procedures and academic programs
• Maintain strong relationships with secondary school officials, prospective students, and their families through extensive email and phone follow-up
• Represent the University at high school visits, college fairs, and special events such as open houses and admitted student weekends
• Manage assigned geographic territories and recruitment projects, including timeline creation and budget monitoring
• Travel approximately three months per year (concentrated in fall and spring) to conduct recruitment activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• 1 year of related experience (equivalent professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Demonstrated professionalism when collaborating with diverse groups of people

Preferred Qualifications

• Graduate of Gonzaga University
• Familiarity with Gonzaga University's programs, goals, and mission
• Experience working with first-generation college-bound students or under-represented groups
• Master's Degree in a related field
• Bilingual skills
