Admission Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Manage inpatient and outpatient admissions by registering incoming patients and entering accurate demographic and financial information.
• Obtain required signatures on legal consents and insurance forms, including Medicare Compliance and ABN where necessary.
• Perform pre-certification, credit referrals, or deposit collections and update patient files accordingly.
• Notify patients, families, and physicians regarding insurance coverage issues, co-payments, or deductibles.
• Review physician orders for completeness and assign patients to rooms based on medical needs and availability.
• Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and hospital staff while maintaining high standards of customer service.
• Answer telephone calls using established scripts and complete all shift duties in a timely manner.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
• 0-2 years of prior relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to type a minimum of 35 WPM.
• Familiarity with medical terminology.
• 1 year of experience with Patient Registration.
• 1 year of experience working with medical insurance.
