About the role
Responsibilities
- Direct patient care, unit activities, and personnel on an assigned shift using the Nursing Process and Relationship-Based Care model.
- Develop, implement, and update patient plans of care based on ongoing assessments and family input.
- Assume the role of Charge Nurse as assigned, acting as a resource for unit personnel regarding policy, standards, and procedures.
- Coordinate daily assignments, staff scheduling, and workflow to facilitate timely patient admission and discharge.
- Advocate for patients, families, and the nursing profession while integrating evidence-based research into practice.
- Identify recurring clinical practice problems and participate in unit-based quality and research initiatives.
- Manage clinical supplies and equipment, ensuring necessary resources are available for the unit.
Requirements
- Illinois Registered Professional Nurse licensure.
- Minimum of one year of RN experience.
- Proven Charge Nurse experience.
- Current AHA BLS/CPR certification.
- Intermediate computer skills with the ability to learn Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
- Must establish Illinois residency within 180 days of hire.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate therapeutic relationships.
