About the role

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner
  • Verify and update patient insurance information for each visit
  • Use computer systems to generate information necessary for billing
  • Maintain understanding of medical insurance changes, including HMO and PPO coverage
  • Collect copays, surgery deposits, and balances
  • Answer telephone calls and process triage calls to appropriate medical personnel

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a customer service setting
  • Experience with office equipment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience as a Medical Office Receptionist
  • At least six months of receptionist experience in a healthcare setting
