About the role
Responsibilities
- Greet patients in a polite, prompt, and helpful manner
- Verify and update patient insurance information for each visit
- Use computer systems to generate information necessary for billing
- Maintain understanding of medical insurance changes, including HMO and PPO coverage
- Collect copays, surgery deposits, and balances
- Answer telephone calls and process triage calls to appropriate medical personnel
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of two years of experience in a customer service setting
- Experience with office equipment
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Medical Office Receptionist
- At least six months of receptionist experience in a healthcare setting
